Secure Access via VPN

Secure access to the TUKE network and HPC PERUN resources

VPN (Virtual Private Network) is a technology that creates an encrypted and secure connection between your device and the university network. In practice, this means that even when connecting from home, from the field, or from public Wi-Fi, your connection is protected and behaves as if you were physically inside the internal TUKE network.

Why is VPN important?

  • Data security – all communication is encrypted and protected from interception.
  • Secure access to TUKE internal services – VPN allows you to work with systems that are available only from within the university network.
  • Access to HPC PERUN – some tools and services of the supercomputer require access through a secure network. VPN is therefore essential for safely connecting to HPC nodes and related infrastructure.
  • Reliable user identification – the system can reliably verify who is connecting, which increases the overall security of the environment.

VPN is therefore a fundamental component for secure and reliable access to the TUKE and HPC PERUN infrastructure.
